​​​​​SAN ANTONIO – The Historic and Design Review Commission approved plans for The Hemisfair Hotel, a 200-room hotel in downtown.

The 17-floor hotel will include residential units, 87 of which will be allocated for workforce housi​ng. There will also be retail shops, restaurants, a ground-​​floor garden, and rooftop bar.

Zachry Hospitality will own and operate the hotel. Overland Partners Architects designed the building.

Construction begins this fall and will wrap by 2025.
