Beef processing plant coming to Amarillo

AMARILLO – The city council has approved the construction of Producer Owned Beef, a $670 million beef processing plant. 

The 1,100-acre facility will process at least 3,000 head of cattle daily. 

It will employ more than 1,500 with a payroll of $120 million per year. 

Producer Owned Beef received more than $12 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund and $11.1 million in tax incentives from the Amarillo Economic Development Corp.
