SA homebuilders asked to be mindful of transformer shortages

​​SAN ANTONIO – Local u​tility companies are warning homebuilders to pace projects due to transform​​​er shortages. 

According to an article from Builder Online, the pandemic and supply chain issues have impacted transformer manufacturers. This ultimately hinders new installations of electricity by utility companies. 

These​ issues may force homebuilders to reconsider transformer options or even delay hooking power up to homes.

One transformer is needed for every four homes. They transform high voltage in power lines to the low voltage used in homes.
