WASHINGTON – Texas is the second-best state for summer road trips nationally, according to a WalletHub study, ranking behind only New York.
The Lone Star State ranked ninth in costs, fourth in activities, and 34th in safety. It was also third in lowest average gas prices.
The rest of the top-five state rankings are Louisiana, Maine, and North Carolina.
Earlier this year, WalletHub named Texas the best state to drive in.
