Amarillo: Sam’s Club and Neighborhood Market rolls in jobs

AMARILLO – With two new Walmart Neighborhood Markets now open in Amarillo, Walmart continues to recruit workers for a third Neighborhood Market a second Sam’s Club.

Sam’s Club is building its second Amarillo store on I-40, west of Soncy Rd. The nearly 19-acre site sits immediately west of Home Depot and Conn’s HomePlus.

Plans submitted to the City of Amarillo show an almost 136,500-sf building.

Sam’s Club intends to hire about 200 new associates for the store, which is slated to open this fall.

Positions will be full- and part-time, and range from membership sales and bakery employees to night merchandisers and technology associates.

Amarillo’s third Walmart Neighborhood Market is also expected to have a fall opening.

The market is now under construction at Southwest 58th Ave. and Georgia St.

The market will hire an estimated 95 full- and part-time workers.
