San Antonio retail fundamentals weaken in July

NAI retail San AntonioSAN ANTONIO – Local retail occupancy fell 80 basis points year over year to 94.4 percent in July 2020, according to NAI Partners. 

Of the 910,000 sf currently under construction, about 46.2 percent is available. Of the 841,000 sf delivered, 70.5 percent is occupied. 

Leasing activity fell 52.5 percent to 1.1 million sf. 

Net absorption also fell year over year to negative 58,000 sf. 

Average asking rate rose 3.5 percent to $16.37 per sf.​
