​​Demographic visual aid for the city of Katy.KATY – The city’s population grew by about 3,000 people between 2013 and 2018, according to a report published by Community Impact Newspaper​. 

Almost 18,100 people lived in the city in 2018, a 20.1 percent change from five years before. Of residents age 25 and older, 88.4 percent had a high school diploma, and 34.8 percent had a bachelor's degree or higher. 

The median income increased 12.7 percent to $77,731 from 2013 to 2018. The median home value increased 28 percent to $192,300. ​

The typical local rent was $980 in 2018, while the average mortgage was​ $1,620.
