WICHITA FALLS - Existing homes sales in the Wichita Falls MLS have rebounded nicely the first half of 2015, showing positive growth and an increase in consumer confidence.

Figures from the Wichita Falls Association of Realtors show a 10 percent increase in second quarter 2015 compared with the same time last year. Existing home sales went from 406 during that three-month period in 2014 to 446 this year.

It was the second quarter in a row to see a double-digit increase in existing homes sold. Sales jumped 14 percent in 1Q 2015 — 323 homes were closed on — over 1Q 2014 when 284 sold.

Year-to-date sales are up 11 percent thus far in 2015, improving from 690 existing homes sold by the end of June 2014 to 769 this past June.

The average sales price for homes increased 24 percent from $105,915 to $131,614, including 18 homes in the $200,000 to $249,999 range.

Of the homes sold in June, 64 were under $100,000, and 79 were $100,000 or higher.
