​​TIF board approves $8 million for projects throughout the city.WACO – The downtown Tax Increment Financing Zone board has approved $8 million for projects aimed at transforming parts of downtown.

The $5.5 million Bridge St. front porch project will turn the street into repaved festival space with ​​​a plaza for special events.

A $1.5 million railroad quiet zone will be established from Peach St. to S. 13th St.

An additional $1 million will be used for:

  • renovating an old building at 305 Elm Ave.,

  • replacing fragments sidewalk on Webster Ave., and

  • removing concrete slabs at Taylor St.
