COLLEGE STATION – After more than five years of planning, phase one of the $3.5 million Fun for All playground at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park has opened.

The playground at Central Park Ln. and the SH 6 service road includes wider slides, a four-seat teeter-totter, and accessible swings, all set up on spongy ground covering.

Built by Caprock Construction, the equipment was designed to allow all children, whether they have special needs or not, to safely and freely play.

The project is a joint effort of the local Rotary Club, the College Station Noon Lions Club, the city’s parks and recreation department, other service organizations, and local businesses and individuals.
