DALLAS-FORT WORTH – Retail fundamentals remained strong in the second quarter, with occupancy reaching a record high of 94.7 percent.
According to CBRE, construction and absorption also saw slight increases to 2.7 million and 893,934 sf, respectively.
Last quarter, 289,621 sf of retail space came online across the metro.
The economy had another strong quarter, marked by more payroll expansion on both sides of the Metroplex.
Unemployment dropped to 3 percent, the lowest local level recorded since 1999.
DFW gained approximately 132,000 new residents from 2017 to 2018, helping it become the fourth most populous metro area in the nation and home to over 7.5 million people.
