Something special in the air in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH – American Airlines’ new headquarters, spread over 300 acres west of SH 360, will have five buildings totaling 1.8 million sf.
A 600-room hotel and 131,000-sf conference and training center will be among the principal amenities of the campus, as well as a fitness and wellness center.
The $250 million, 620,000-sf hospitality center will also offer office and retail space. The building, which will include dining areas and a tavern, will be on the site of the airline’s flight attendant school.
Construction began in 2017, and delivery is set for 2021.
As a condition for economic incentives from the city, American must employ more than 4,000 fulltime workers, four hundred of which must be filled by city residents.
Additionally, development costs must be at least $350 million and occupancy must start by the end of the year.
The carrier has about 95 years left on its ground lease.
