EL PASO – UFP Technologies Inc. recently opened a new plant at 8600 E. Gateway Blvd. The facility is 130,000 sf and employs 80 workers. It is UFP’s tenth manufacturing facility in the United States.

UFP designs and manufactures interior protective packaging using 100 percent recycled molded fiber, which is also known as ‘molded pulp’ and ‘molded paper.’

The addition of the El Paso site expands UFP’s U.S. footprint and positions the company to meet the growing demand for 100 percent recyclable molded fiber packaging in Mexico, the Southwest and the Western United States.

“Our expansion to El Paso was a big move as far as staying ahead of the competition. It provides our customer with redundant manufacturing options and geographic reach that no other molded fiber company can match,” said Steve McLaughlin, UFP’s director of sales and marketing.
