The submarket recently experienced a more than $50 billion petrochemical expansion that is positively affecting demand for industrial supply, particularly for plastics and logistics. The largest projects under construction include: Port of Houston facilities set a record for total tonnage at 35.7 million tons, which reflected an increase of 9 percent from 2017. It remains a leading port in the U.S., and development activity is expected to continue at an accelerated pace for the foreseeable future.
