KILLEEN-TEMPLE AREA - Killeen sales of single-family homes increased 8 percent while the median price of a home fell 4 percent to $111,900, according to the Fort Hood Area Association of Realtors.

Of the 170 homes sold in June, 89.03 percent were under $199,000 while 10.97 percent were in the $200,000–$500,000 price range. 

The number of active listings in the Killeen market fell by 8 percent to 791, and the average time a home spent on the market dropped to 80 days. Killeen has 5.4 months of inventory available, down from 6.5 months in June 2014.

In Temple, single-family home sales increased 39 percent year-over-year in June 2015, and the median price of a home rose 11 percent to $154,950.

Of the 126 homes sold in the Temple market, 83.87 percent were priced below $199,000 and spent an average of 100 days on the market. Another 15.32 percent were in the $200,000–$500,000 price range and 0.81 percent were priced above $500,000.

Harker Heights single-family home sales increased 37 percent with median home prices declining 8 percent to $181,250. The number of single-family homes sold in June increased 37 percent year-over-year from June 2014. 

Of the 56 homes sold in Harker Heights, 58.93 were priced below $199,000 and 41.07 percent were in the $200,000–$500,000 price range. The number of active listings climbed 5 percent to 243, with the average home spending 77 days on the market.

Harker Heights has 7.5 months of inventory available, compared to 8.8 months in June 2014.
