​​​​​​WILLIS – Entergy Texas has broken ground on the new 993-megawatt Montgomery County Power Station.  ​

The facility is underway next to the Lewis Creek Power Plant.

Construction of the project ​​will modernize Entergy​ Texas’ generation fleet using new technology that provides a cleaner and more efficient source of power.

It​ will benefit customers by providing a savings of approximately $1.7 billion over the next 30 years, according to the company.

The plant will come ​online by mid-2021.
