800-acre project under the sun

​​​​​​​ANDREWS COUNTY – 7X Energy Inc. has sold the 100-MW Lapetus Solar Energy Project to Duke Energy Renewables.

When complete, the 800-acre solar facility will bring around 150 jobs to the county and generate over $20 million in local property tax revenue.

Construction will begin in​ late March. The development is scheduled to begin operations by the end of the year.

Duke Energy will be the long-term owner and operator of the project.​​
