El Paso’s Austin HS upgrades in the round

​​​​​EL PASO – El Paso Independent School District broke ground on campus upgrades to Austin High School.

The district is investing $29.6 million into the school at 3500 Memphis Ave. 

A new performance arts center with a 300-seat theater will be built along with new band and orchestra classrooms and a multi-purpose room.

​Other projects include roof improvements, upgrades to school’s mechanical system, LED lighting at the campus, replacement of windows, and aesthetic renovations to classrooms and the courtyard.

Construction is scheduled to be complete spring 2021.​​
