LONGVIEW – Local unemployment dropped in October to its lowest rate in more than ten years, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
The unemployment rate of 3.8 percent tied with that of May 2008.
That compares with 4 percent in September 2018 and 4.3 percent in October 2017.
Texas as a whole saw its seasonally adjusted rate dip from 3.8 percent in September to 3.7 percent in October, the lowest level since the state began logging unemployment data in January 1976.
