COPPELL – The city council has approved a change order for the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the construction of the Coppell Arts Center, bringing the total cost of the project at 505 Travis St. from $16.2 million to about $20.8 million.
The change order includes enlarging the theater for additional seating—from 315 to 441 seats—along with escalation costs from the original GMP.
The arts center will be approximately 32,250 sf, and it will include a flexible theater; main stage theater; multipurpose room; exhibit, classroom, and office space; and courtyard plaza.
Construction is expected to begin after Thanksgiving and wrap up in spring 2020.
