BAYTOWN – JSW USA has broken ground on a 111-acre plate mill factory.

The $500 million project will have the most technologically advanced and eco-friendly electric arc furnace, slab caster, and plate mill in the world.

It is part of a second and larger phase of a plate mill modernization and expansion project that began in June 2017 on JSW USA’s 700-acre campus on McKinney Rd.

Construction is expected to take between 18 and 24 months.
