Image of the new building.GALVESTON – Texas A&M University at Galveston has opened the Aggie Special Events Center (ASEC) just in time for the fall semester. 

The 38,000-sf building has classrooms, seminar rooms, a campus bookstore, meeting rooms, administrative offices, mailroom, coffee shop, and other spaces that can be subdivided.

The ASEC is the second phase of a $99 million expansion. Phase one is a 91,000-sf academic building intented to help the campus vacate the Sea Aggie Center. 

Texas A&M held a dedication ceremony on Oct. 19. The facility originally opened in July 2018.
