​​​DALLAS-FORT WORTH-ARLINGTON – North Texas posted 3.2 percent job growth in the past year, higher than the average rate across the United States.​

Of the 12 metropolitan areas looked at by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only Houston and Phoenix had higher job growth between August 2017 to August 2018. 

Professional services led the charge locally with 5.3 percent growth, followed by 4.3 percent growth in the leisure and hospitality industry.
