In a study by Smart Asset, Collin County was ranked third in the state and seventh in the nation for incoming investments. The study looked at the number of businesses established in a three-year period, GDP growth, federal contracts held by local businesses, and new buildings.
The number of businesses in the county has grown by nearly 14 percent, and federal funds in contracts have risen by more than $1,300 per capita. Rockwall County follows close behind, having moved up in the rankings to the No. 4 spot with just over 11 percent in incoming investment growth.
Denton County rounds out the top ten of incoming investments in Texas.
Dallas and Tarrant counties both slipped from last year’s rankings, coming in at 13th and 16th, respectively.
