​​​​​Image of the Astrodome.HOUSTON –The $105 million Astrodome ren project approved earlier this year is expected to break ground in spring 2019.

The third and fin​al phase of asbestos abatement is scheduled for October and will take about four months to complete.

Plans for the project include raising the Astrodome floor 30 ft to ground level, creating more than 500,000 sf of rentable space, as well as adding 1,400 parking spaces. 

C​onstruction should take about 20 months.
