​​Red Berry site development plan.SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Housing Trust Public Facility Corp. approved $10.5 million for the East Side’s Red Berry Estate redevelopment.

The city-owned, 85-acre property at 856 Gembler Rd. is slated to be transformed into a mixed-use development.

Plans include a 330-unit apartment complex, 169,000-sf office building, extended Salado Creek Hike and Bike Trail system, and a renovated Red Berry Mansion.

Project costs are expected to total $61.8 million.

Public infrastructure site work is underway, while the Red Berry apartment project is expected to break ground late October 2018.
