Hotel sets new sites in Temple

​​​TEMPLE – Site work has started on a new Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel at the intersection of S. 31st St. and Scott Blvd., marking the next phase of development in The District.

​Temple Economic Development Corp. Vice President Charley Ayers said the hotel’s location directly across from the city’s largest employer, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, should make it economically viable.

The development is within the Temple Medical and Educational District, which is an area designed to promote the city’s medical and educational industries. It encourages walkable, mixed-use developments aimed at attracting young professionals to the area.
