Austin Central LibraryAUSTIN – The $125 million Austin Central Library has landed on Time magazine's new list of the world's greatest places.

The library, which opened in October 2017, was honored alongside places such as the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Saudi Arabia, the Roman-era Temple of Mithras in London, and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.

It's a major feather in the cap for the city as well as the development team behind the 198,000-sf, six-story library.

The 198,000-sf, six-story library is in west downtown, directly east of the redeveloped Seaholm Power Plant and west of the 500 West 2nd St. that houses Google.
