The facility will help the port match its growing needs as the nation’s largest exporter of crude oil and as the fourth-largest port in total tonnage.

The project will be next to the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center in the 400 block of Harbor Dr. It is scheduled for completion in 2020, the same year the new harbor bridge is scheduled to open.​
