GARLAND – A Silicon Valley company is planning to bolster a local $1 billion data center project that was unveiled in 2017.
Digital Realty Trust Inc. will expand its local data center campus with a $400 million addition after the city approved the project in mid-August 2018.
With the upgrade, the site will grow to about 64 acres, up from 47.5 acres.
The design of the first phase is underway and construction is slated for completion in late 2021.
Digital Realty will have 1.4 million sf with the expanded site, making it one of the largest in the area.
