Texas’ first mass timber construction project underway

SAN ANTONIO – Hixon Properties Inc. has broken ground on its Cavender office project, renaming it The Soto. 

The six-story, 140,600-sf office project is on the former Cavender Cadillac dealership at the corner of Broadway and Eighth Streets. It will include 10,000 sf of retail space along with the office space. 

The project—the first mass timber construction project in the state—will open for tenants by February 2020.

Lake Flato Architects is the design architect, and BOKA Powell LLC is the architect of record. JLL is handling leasing.
