Stratus Properties Inc. purchased approximately 54 acres for a mixed-use development called Kingwood Place, which will be anchored by the San Antonio-based grocery store.

The project is slated to break ground in November 2018, though the company is still working on construction financing and building permits.

That timeline will allow HEB to open in October 2019.

In addition to the 103,000-sf HEB, Kingwood Place will include 41,000 sf of retail space, six retail pads, and an 11-acre parcel planned for approximately 300 multifamily units.

Stratus expects to invest about $50 million in the project.
