PLANO – A high-rise hotel to be operated by a Japanese firm is in the works for Legacy business park.
The ten-story, 250 room hotel is planned on Legacy Dr. as part of the redevelopment of J.C. Penney’s long-time headquarters.
The hotel tower and five-story parking garage would be the first major addition to the Penney property, which has been renamed the Campus at Legacy West.
A partnership headed by investor Sam Ware’s Dreien Opportunity Partners is redeveloping the 1.3 million-sf Penney headquarters complex and 40 acres of land into spaces for multiple tenants.
The partnership bought the property in 2016 for more than $350 million.
