Nearly 9,600 acres of wetlands sold | Nearly 9,600 acres of wetlands sold | https://www.recenter.tamu.edu/news/newstalk-texas/?Item=20711 | 2018-07-25T05:00:00Z | 2018-07-25T22:00:00Z | BRAZORIA, GALVESTON COUNTIES – Chocolate Bay Conservation Holdings LLC has purchased over 9,590 acres northeast of the Chocolate Bay along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The sale closed late last month for $2,280 per acre.
The land will be used for wetlands mitigation. It will eventually end up in the hands of Texas Parks & Wildlife and the Galveston Bay Foundation as a wildlife refuge.
Center-based TerraStone Land Company represented the buyer. The sellers, Rima and Farouk Alattar, were represented by the Heidi Allbritton Group at KW Commercial Realty Houston Metropolitan.
