DALLAS – A new report by Yardi Systems Inc. says Houston had the highest increase in renter families nationally between 2006 and 2016. The Metroplex was just behind.
Houston posted an increase of 107,000 renter families during that period. DFW increased by 101,000.
"In Houston, 45 percent of the new units built between 2006 and 2016 were family-sized (two or more bedrooms), while in Dallas-Fort Worth the percentage was 42 percent," the report said.
DFW is one of the top apartment construction markets in the country with more than 37,000 units being built at midyear, according to the Dallas Morning News.
