HILLSBORO, HILL COUNTY – IKO Industries, an Illinois-based maker of roofing materials, will break ground in February on an $80 million project in Hillsboro’s industrial park, according to Arthur Mann, the city’s economic development administrator.
The facility will employ about 50 people during the facility’s early stages, but that number could rise to nearly 100.
Wages at the plant will average $41,000 a year, and Mann thinks the plant “will attract from Waco and all over Central Texas.”
IKO is a worldwide leader in the production of roofing, waterproofing and insulation materials for residential and commercial markets.
