DALLAS – Despite steady rent increases, the City of Dallas is still the most affordable city in which to live in the Metroplex for apartment dwellers, according to a report by Apartment List.

The report found that renting an apartment in Dallas is comparatively cheaper than in the nine other large cities in the Metroplex.

Median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in the city is currently $1,105 per month, up 1.1 percent from last year.

Plano has the highest median rent—$1,420 for a two-bedroom apartment—in the region​.

Median rent for one-bedroom apartment in Plano is​ $1,140, whereas in Dallas, a one-bedroom apartment would cost $889.

According to the report, rents have been increasing throughout Texas at a rate of 2 percent, and nationally at a rate of 1.5 percent.
