​​​​Ebby HallidayDALLAS – Warren Buffett’s HomeServices of America Inc. purchased Ebby Halliday Companies.

The acquisition also includes Ebby divisions Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Fort Worth-based Williams Trew Real Estate. 

Those companies will also continue to operate under their current brand names.

Terms were not disclosed when the deal was announced, but the purchase price could have been as high as $100 million, according to Steve Murray of the Denver-based RealTrends.

With its acquisition of Ebby Halliday, HomeServices is poised to become the nation’s largest brokerage in terms of transactions, growing to nearly 42,500 real estate professionals operating in nearly 900 offices across 30 states.

In 2017, Ebby Halliday was the country’s 17th largest brokerage in terms of transactions, participating in more than 18,800 deals worth more than $8 billion. 

It has approximately 1,850 agents and staff in 35 offices in North Texas.​​​
