WASHINGTON – The nation’s jobless rate fell 3.8 percent last month, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s May 2018 jobs report.
Since 1969, the only other time unemployment was this low was in April 2000.
Wages grew 2.7 percent in May compared with a year earlier.
"We hope the U.S. economy continues to expand so that those who have left the labor market can return to the market," said Real Estate Center Research Economist Dr. Ali Anari.
According to the Monthly Review of the Texas Economyreport written by Dr. Anari, Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent in April 2018.
