​​AUSTIN – Austin Energy is looking for a new headquarters where it can consolidate its 1,700 employees.

The city-owned electric utility is looking for about 300,000 sf to replace the dozen or so sites it currently has, the Austin America-Statesman reports.​

The new plan calls for a building that can house a call center, meeting rooms, a cafeteria and "space for physical fitness activities."​

The public utility could make a decision on where to relocate within a few weeks and City Council would need to give the green light.
