ROUND ROCK – Construction has started on Kalahari Resorts Round Rock—an African-themed waterpark and convention center—located at the southeast corner of US 79 and Kenney Forest Blvd.
Scheduled to open in 2020, the resort is a $550 million—350-acre complex—which will include:
- nearly 1,000 guest rooms
- America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark—223,000 sf
- Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park—spanning more than 80,000 sf of thrill rides, climbing walls, indoor zipline, and more
- outdoor pools spanning three acres
- five restaurants
- Spa Kalahari and Salon
- 10,000 sf of retail space
The convention center will span 220,000 sf and include 40,000-sf and 27,000-sf ballrooms, 16 meeting rooms, a full-service business center, and 50,000 sf of outdoor event space.
