​​​​A rendering of the manufacturing facility located on the former Brooks air force base. SAN ANTONIO – Nissei Plastic Machinery America Inc., a subsidiary of a Japanese manufacturing giant, will open its 115,000-sf facility at Brooks mid-May 2018 after nearly two years of construction.

The $21 million facility, located along Lyster Rd., will be used to make plastic injection molding machines to be sold to manufacturing facilities across North and South America and used to make a variety of products.

The San Antonio plant is Nissei’s third production facility outside of Japan.
