EL PASO – The City of El Paso confirmed it is preparing to tear down Cohen Stadium on the city’s north side.
The city council approved the 2019 capital-funding plan, which includes the demolition.
The city’s master plan, unveiled in January 2018, proposed building a water park and recreation center in place of the ballpark.
A date is still not set for the demolition.
The city council has approved the water park, which is expected to be ready by 2020.
