Berry Aviation airplanesSAN MARCOS – A 31,000-sf aviation maintenance headquarters expansion for Berry Aviation, Inc. has broken ground at the San Marcos Regional Airport.

The new $2.7 million facility at 1807 Airport Dr. will include a 20,000-sf maintenance hangar, a machine shop, a nondestructive testing lab, a parts retrieval system, and more than 10,000 sf of office space.

The expansion is expected to be complete late fall 2018.

The company, which provides airlift and aviation services for commercial, private and government entities, signed a 40-year land lease with the city in 2017.

It is expected to bring 20-30 high-skill jobs to the area.
