​​WASHINGTON – Dallas and ​​Houston ranked third and tenth​ on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s​​​ (EPA) ​​Energy Star top cities list for 2017.

The EPA’s list ranks the 25 U.S. metro areas with the most Energy Star-certified buildings that year. ​

​Dallas and Houston have 468 and 247 Energy Star-certified buildings, respectively. Austin was the only other Texas city in the top 25, ranking 17th with 130 certified buildings. 

Los Angeles (716 certified buildings), Washington (661), Atlanta (441), and New York (434) rounded out the top five.
