​DALLAS – Southwest Airlines Co. has opened the newest facility on its Dallas campus.

The new $250 million, 800,000-sf addition includes office space and an area for pilots to train.

The facility includes two separate buildings.

The first is a six-story building, called Wings, that encompasses 414,000 sf and will offer training space for 2,200 of the 10,400 Southwest employees.

The other building is the LEAD (Leadership Education and Aircrew Development) Center, which will act as the new pilot training facility.

The LEAD Center can accommodate 18 flight simulators with the option of expanding for nine additional simulators.​​
