METRO HOUSTON – Construction starts in the Houston region totaled $1.074 billion in February 2018, a 24.7 percent decrease from $1.426 billion in February 2017, according to the latest report from Dodge Data & Analytics.
Residential starts rose 1.1 percent while nonresidential starts fell 49.3 percent.
The 12-month total peaked at $30.9 billion in February 2015, the height of the chemical plant construction boom, and has trended down since.
