GREATER HOUSTON – GGP Inc., which owns five Houston-area malls, has agreed to be acquired by Brookfield Property Partners LP.
GGP owns about 125 high-end malls across the country, including:
- Friendswood: Baybrook Mall;
- Humble: Deerbrook Mall;
- Northwest Houston: Willowbrook Mall;
- Sugar Land: First Colony Mall; and
- The Woodlands: The Woodlands Mall.
The deal is worth nearly $15 billion, and is expected to close early in third quarter 2018.
