PEARLAND – The city council unanimously voted to undo three annexations completed in November 2017. The council also approved a resolution calling for a fire and emergency services payment agreement with the de-annexed residents.

The three areas, designated A, C, and L, would have added almost 2,000 acres and 300 residents to the property tax rolls.

If the areas don’t seek out an emergency services district designation or some other payment agreement with the city, the fire and emergency service will end Dec. 31.

No property tax had been collected, so there is nothing to refund affected residents.
