BAYTOWN – JSW Steel (USA) Inc. could invest up to $500 million in expansion of its steel manufacturing infrastructure located at 5200 E McKinney Rd.
The expansion will be completed in phases, and Texas has offered the company a $3.4 million Texas Enterprise Fund grant for the expansion.
The first phase, a $150 million investment, is already underway and will enhance the capabilities of JSW’s plate and pipe mill unit.
The first phase is expected to be complete by March 2020.
The expansion will create 500 new jobs by 2020, and the plant already employs 350 people.
